Attention CSD Parents/Guardians and Students:
With winter and snow around the corner, it is a good time to review our school closing or delay and snow day procedures. In the event school is closed due to inclement weather or an emergency, we will use our school closure/emergency notification system to inform parents, students and staff. Alerts will be sent via phone call, text, and email. Messages will also be posted on the District website, Facebook and Twitter. School closures will also be posted on these local media stations:
- WLUK (Fox 11)
- WBAY (Action 2 News)
- NBC 26
- WISN 12
- KFIZ 1450 AM Radio
- WFDL 97.7 Radio
Please make sure your contact information in Skyward is updated and correct. Also check the above sources to determine if school will be closed or closing early.
We do our best to make a decision and send out notifications as early as possible. The CSD considers the following factors when deciding to close schools:
- safety of students and staff
- snow
- ice
- temperature / wind chill
- road conditions
- emergency situations or severe weather
It is strongly recommended that parents/families have a plan in place and arrangements made ahead of time for where and who your child will go to in case of a school closure, changes in school schedules, or if school starts late or is dismissed early.
