Notes on End of Year and a Look at Next Year:
Dear Campbellsport Parents and Students, May 18, 2021
As we approach the end of this ‘extremely crazy’ year, we appreciate the adjustment that all have made through these uncharted paths. We plan on having end of the year promotions and the senior graduation with mild modifications. Also of note is that student activities this summer outside such as parades and performances have been given the OK to happen. As you know our Board has been requiring masking in school buildings, at their meeting Monday they reaffirmed that through the end of the school year masks would be required in the buildings.
We have been contacted about offering the first dose of the vaccine in school but the logistics in these next two weeks made this impossible. If you are interested there are many outlets for the vaccine that will continue to be offered during the summer.
Let’s look at next year. Although we will continue to hear about the impact of this virus on our community, with the vaccines and immunities developed, the expectation is a return to ‘a high level of normalcy’. We still need to be aware of personal hygiene practices and monitor student health indicators. If someone is sick they should stay home so as not to transmit any illness. Likewise, if someone feels like they would like to wear a mask in certain situations they will be allowed to do so. Finally, if a parent/guardian or student does not feel comfortable returning to in person education, we have arranged for virtual programming with the Kiel School District. They offer both an elementary and a secondary option, having done virtual for a number of years. If you would like more information on this please contact your student’s counselor to get enrolled. Watch for more details in the near future.
Looking forward to seeing smiling faces in our schools next fall.
